Media Center

Welcome to JD Parker’s Media Center

Our vision is to focus on creating an environment where learners can explore, evaluate, research, read and communicate their interests to become literate life long learners in a global changing environment.

During their visit to the Media Center students will be able to:

  • Return old, and check out new library books.

  • Explore different genres

  • Choose high interest books

  • Be able to research for class projects

  • They may also shop in our ROCK It Store using the ROCK It Cards they earn for following our school-wide expectations: Respect, Ownership, Citizenship, Kindness.

  • Use the Maker Space

The Library serves as the information center of the school by providing both print and non-print materials to support the curriculum and student interests. The Library Staff strives to provide access to materials in all formats, promote the use of technology to enhance learning, provide assistance with research and project development, and promote enjoyment of reading.

Expectations: Students should keep library books clean and dry. Enter the library quietly and listen to the librarian. Return books to their proper place. Walk/not run in the Media Center. Clean up after yourself and return your library books on time so other students can enjoy them, too!
