👟PROVIDING COMFORT👟 Just before the holiday weekend, students at Riverbend Academy had a memorable day receiving a generous donation of brand-new socks and Crocs. Keith "Fletch" Fletcher, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County, went #ALLINMartin and donated enough socks and Crocs for each of the more than 100 current students to have their own, plus some extra for future students. Riverbend and SandyPines Residential Treatment Center staff made the donation day extra special. They invited Superintendent Michael Maine, School Board Chair Jennifer Russell (District 3), Assistant Superintendent of Student Services Dr. Lisa Estevez, Executive Director of Principals and School Improvement Dr. Melissa Riviotta, Boys and Girls Club representatives Joe Flanagan and Fletch, and the Riverbend Bobcat mascot to help pass out the items. Riverbend teacher Ms. Rhonda Oksman started this initiative and has a goal to give a new pair of Crocs to every student when they arrive. #MCSDBetterTogether💫

He has worked hard to get to the finish line," proud mom Monica shared. "We are so thankful for all the teachers that helped him get here, but we especially are thankful for those that went the extra mile to encourage him to keep working hard when he was struggling so much learning how to learn in different ways with dyslexia. Palm City Elementary School started the journey with some incredible teachers and support. Thank you Mrs. Noonan, Mrs. Green, and Mrs. Goldman. You gave him the confidence he needed for his years at Hidden Oaks Middle School and MCHS." "Andrew enjoyed trying new things through this education from Robotics Club at PCE, Band at Hidden Oaks, then on to Football for three years and Wrestling for all four years at MCHS," Monica continued. "We are so proud of Andrew for never giving up! For keeping that humor and smile even when times were really tough!"
