🛠CELEBRATING NEW BEGINNINGS🛠 Superintendent Dr. John D. Millay, Deputy Superintendent Michael Maine, School Board Chair Marsha B. Powers (District 2) and School Board Vice Chair Jennifer Russell (District 3) attended the topping-off ceremony for the new Indiantown High School building today. Indiantown High School is a new public charter school operated by IRSC - Indian River State College and located in the Village of Indiantown, FL Government. The school opened its doors for ninth-grade students this school year on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County's Indiantown campus. The state-of-the-art 60,000-square-foot building that is being constructed at SW Citrus Blvd. will allow the school to expand to serve all high school grade levels in the coming years. IRSC President Dr. Tim Moore led the ceremony, which featured current students signing their names to the final roof beam that was placed on the new building. #ALLINMartin👊

🐝ICYMI: STELLAR SPELLERS SHINE🐝 The Martin County School District recently held the 57th Annual Lillian A. Dassori Elementary Spelling Bee at Jensen Beach High School. Students from all twelve of the District's elementary schools participated in seven rounds of competition, tackling tough words such as '"aardvark," "anathema," and "celestial." The winner of the Bee, Olivia Priddy from SeaWind Elementary - Hobe Sound, FL, nailed the winning word, "eschew." 🔬CELEBRATING STEM EXCELLENCE🔬 Clark Advanced Learning Center junior Jasmine Nunez has been selected as the Martin County School District's representative for the Florida Department of Education's 2023 Sunshine State Scholars program! Jensen Beach High School junior Nathan Bartley has been selected as this year's alternate. The Sunshine State Scholars program recognizes Florida's top-performing 11th graders in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Each scholar, along with their parents, will travel to Orlando for an extraordinary program designed to bring together scholars from around the state, connect them with employers that specialize in the STEM fields, and create a networking opportunity between the scholars and schools from Florida’s College and State University System. 🏐🏆HONORING CHAMPIONS🏐🏆 Superintendent Dr. John D. Millay and the Martin County School Board honored Jensen Beach High School's State Champion Volleyball team this evening. The team cruised to a 29-3 record on their way to earning the Florida High School Athletic Association's 2022-2023 Class 5A state title, their fifth in program history. The Lady Falcons have been equally successful in the classroom this year, earning a team GPA of 3.7 (5th highest team GPA in Florida). Six scholar-athletes maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA. Graduating seniors plan to attend prestigious institutions of higher learning such as Yale University, Northeastern University, Indian River State College, the University of Tampa and Furman University. #ALLINMartin👊 #PublicSchoolProud

🥚EGGSTRA CAREFUL🥚 Crystal Lake Elementary School recently held its annual Egg Drop Competition! Students either created their devices at home or school with donated materials and came up with some great engineering designs! It takes a team to help organize this fun and educational competition. The Martin County School District's Maintenance Department loaned the cherry picker and the operator, AJ. 🐾BULLDOGS REPRESENT🐾 Two South Fork High School teachers are participating in a unique Educator Workshop at the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina, this week! Mr. William Lloyd (Exceptional Student Education) and Mr. Marc Turull (IB Physics and Chemistry) are receiving first-hand experience about the recruiting, training and transformation process civilians go through to earn the title of a United States Marine. They are proudly representing the Bulldog Nation through their journey. 🚨LAW ENFORCEMENT ALERT FOR FAMILIES🚨 The Martin County Sheriff's Office is actively enforcing laws about the operation of unregistered golf carts in our community, particularly near school campuses. Golf carts are only permitted on roads with a maximum 35 mph speed limit, and that’s only if they are titled, registered, insured and have all the appropriate safety measures to make them street legal.
