Music in Our Schools 2024

The Martin County School District hosted the 48th Annual Music In Our Schools Concert Event at Martin County High School on March 21, 2024.

The program coincided with the National Association for Music Education’s (NAfME) Music in Our Schools Month, with this year's theme being "I See Me In Music Education."

The Music in Our Schools Concert showcases the amazing musical talents of our students from all District-operated schools under the guidance of our dedicated music leaders.

“The Music in Our Schools Concert is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, as well as the unwavering dedication of our incomparable music educators,” Superintendent Michael Maine said during the event. “It showcases the incredible talents that flourish within our district, reflecting the countless hours of practice, perseverance and patience that you all have honed in your craft.”

During the event, two special music educators were celebrated, as this was the last Music in Our Schools Concert they would be participating in in the same capacity. Ms. Donna Vojcsik, Jensen Beach Elementary Music Teacher, plans to retire at the end of this school year and has fostered the love for music in the lives of many students. Mr. Joe Flanagan, a former school leader and music teacher, has been instrumental in what music education has been like in the Martin County School District and across Florida. Mr. Flanagan is retiring as the emcee of the Music in Our Schools Concert.
