5Essentials Satisfaction and Engagement Survey

As part of its continued commitment to educating all students for success, the Martin County School District (MCSD) is launching its annual Satisfaction and Engagement Surveys. These surveys provide stakeholders the opportunity to give feedback on their level of satisfaction and engagement regarding school and District-based programs, outreach efforts, initiatives and resources.

This year, MCSD has continued to partner with the University of Chicago's Consortium on School Research, utilizing evidence-based essential questions that will inform our ongoing efforts to deliver an exceptional educational experience to all students. These surveys will gather data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are:

  • Effective Leaders
  • Collaborative Teachers
  • Involved Families
  • Supportive Environments
  • Ambitious Instruction

Research has demonstrated that schools that were strong on at least three of these indicators were 10 times more likely to improve student learning gains in math and reading.

Parents/caregivers, teachers and students enrolled in grades 4-12 are encouraged to complete the surveys, which will be used to inform and develop school improvement goals.

“The insight we will gather from year two of this survey, particularly as we review our districtwide progress toward achieving ‘well-organized’ status across the five domains, will continue to be invaluable as we tailor our educational practices and foster innovation within our schools,” said Superintendent Michael Maine.

The Satisfaction and Engagement Surveys launches Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and will close Friday, March 22, 2024. Parents/caregivers of students who choose to complete the survey may request a copy of survey questions from their child's school or the school district if desired.

Parents who have children enrolled in more than one school are encouraged to complete a parent survey for each school.

To complete the survey, please visit: survey.5-essentials.org/martin/

  • Students in grades 4-12 are eligible to take the survey and will need their ID (4300) number and birthdate to log in.
  • Teachers will receive an email with their unique login and passcode when the survey opens, and non-respondents are sent reminders each Monday that the survey is open.
  • Parents will need to enter the school name to take the survey.

The feedback received through these surveys is invaluable. MCSD is grateful to every stakeholder partnering with us on our mission to provide an excellent education for all students.
